What some of our customers say!

  • Claire and Simon visited us from Thailand:

"Without doubt Huvsgul lake and the nearby `Special Protected Area' is one of the most beautiful places that we have visited. Once away from the few minor roads and tracks, you are enthralled with a barren, wild, landscape inhabited by a few nomadic people living much as they have for thousands of years. For us, the highlight was riding from the lakeside high up a mountain pass in heavy snow in search of the reindeer herders. When we arrived we were invited into their teepee and fed hot milk tea and bread while one of the herdsmen brought the reindeer down from the higher slopes for us to see. The whole trip was a wonderful adventure that we will never forget."

"Traveling with Mongol Tour was a delight, and we thoroughly enjoyed the company of our guides Bailaa, Tungaa and Baska, as well as the two horsemen who accompanied us for much of our journey. This family business takes real care of it visitors, treating its guests more like visiting friends than customers or tourists. Spending time with them really is special and different. Don't go if you want a sanitised, slick and sterile "tour". Do go if you love insight into new cultures and the sheer adventure associated with travel in regions still largely unaffected by the pace of the modernisation."

  • Pat visited us from Malaysia:

"I thought the travel arrangements were well organised and we certainly got to see a lot of Mongolia in the time we had. I thought you were a marvellous guide and we got very good value for money. I think the most lasting impressions of Mongolia was the Nadaam Festival and the Taki horses in Khustain Mountain."

  • Catriona visited us from Hong Kong:

"We spent almost three weeks traveling around Mongolia with Baila and her family, who were absolutely wonderful and great fun to be with; friends not tour guides. The tour had something for everyone, festivals, cultural & historical sites, camping, hill walking, camel & horse riding, rafting, swimming, wildlife and of course the most fantastic scenery. The food was also excellent. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Mongolia for the first time to experience one of Baila's tours."

  • Fiona visited us from Scotland:

"I spent over a month with Baila and her family and they could not have done more to make my trip enjoyable and interesting. I feel I saw the real Mongolia and there was always someone there to help with language problems and to explain about customs which are very different to our "western" traditions. When I return to Mongolia, I will definitely go with Baila again."

  • Dan and Shyla Bare visited us from the United States:

"This trip was the real deal!"

"My husband and I were travelling around the world. This was the twenty-sixth country of the trip... and by far the most incredible. The scenery and remoteness of Mongolia is amazing. The locals friendly. The wildlife fascinating. And the festivals are so colourful."

"What really made this trip special was Baila and her family. They took us around the country for three weeks. The trip was not a sanitized "made for Americans" tour. Instead we really learned how local Mongol people live. We were invited into real homes (Gers). We ate traditional meals. We discussed Mongolian customs, religion and politics. We even learned to say a few Mongolian expressions."

"The entire tour Baila listened to us and adapted the tour based on our interests and desires. We really appreciate all Baila and her family did to make us feel welcome in Mongolia."

"Mongolia is a fascinating and beautiful country. Our time there was made all that more wonderful by touring with Baila. We really appreciated spending time with real Mongolians and truly learning about all aspects of life in this remote country."
